Tractor-trailer carrying Girl Scout cookies overturns on I-76

The westbound lanes of I-76 have been shut down following a crash involving a tractor trailer that was carrying Girl Scout Cookies.

UPPER MERION, Pa. (WPVI) -- A tractor-trailer carrying Girl Scout cookies was involved in a crash that shut down parts of I-76 westbound in Upper Merion.

The highway was closed for several hours as the overturned truck was removed.

Pennsylvania State Police and medics were called around 1:15 p.m. to westbound I-76 between Route 202 and Mall Boulevard.

The driver was freed from the wreckage and treated at the scene. No serious injuries were reported.

Action News has learned the truck was carrying Girl Scout Cookies.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
