Woman shot during robbery attempt in Wissinoming

WISSINOMING (WPVI) -- A 21-year-old woman was shot and wounded during an attempted robbery in Philadelphia's Wissinoming section.

It happened just before 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 5700 block of Charles Street.

Police say the woman was shot in the right shoulder. She is in stable condition.

The suspect was dressed in black with a black bandana covering his face.

He fled on foot toward a nearby park.
