2 suspects captured after I-476 stabbing; Villanova University lockdown lifted

RADNOR TWP, Pa. -- Police sources tell action news that two suspects are in custody after a stabbing on I-476 Sunday evening.

The incident led to a brief lockdown on the Villanova University campus.

Police say the two suspects fled the scene on the Blue Route in a UHaul truck and exited the interstate in Radnor Township.

The two eventually ditched the truck and ran off into a neighborhood.

Police tell action news they found a discarded knife.

A Radnor Twp. officer captured one of the suspects at Unkefer Park.

Sources have not said where the second was found.

According to sources, the victim of the stabbing suffered serious injuries. They are being treated at the hospital.

Sources also tell action news that a Lower Merion Police officer was injured in a crash, responding to the incident.

Investigators are working to determine what sparked the fight that led to the initial stabbing.

The lockdown at Villanova University was lifted just after 6:30 p.m.
