Two candidates are vying for Pennsylvania's 6th Congressional District seat.

Democrat Manan Trivedi will face off against current Chester County Commissioner Ryan Costello.

Trivedi is taking his third stab at congress.

The physician and decorated Iraq War veteran was a surgeon on the front lines.

A traditional Democrat, he supports President Obama's strategy to destroy ISIS, but he has some warnings.

"I want to make sure we've learned from the mistakes from our past in Iraq and Afghanistan and have a different, stronger, and real well-defined strategy," Trivedi said.

First term Chester County Commissioner Ryan Costello is the Republican nominee, who, like many GOP candidates this fall has backed away from hammering the Affordable Care Act aka Obomacare.

"More people have access to health insurance, the question is whether more people have access to care and the quality of that care and even more importantly, I think the challenge is going to be is it more costly?" Costello said.

Costello is the winner when it comes to fundraising. He has a 2 to 1 advantage. He is a darling of the NRA.

After the last census, the 6th District lines were drawn to virtually insure a safe seat for Jim Gerlach who is not running again. In terms of voter registration, Republicans have a 44-40 advantage.

This is an off-year election so turnout is a major factor.
