VIDEO: Previewing Action News coverage of papal visit

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Action News has a prime spot on the Oval and a great view of the World Meeting of Families stage.

As Local 8 workers continue to build the main stage, the purpose behind the construction does not escape them.

"I just feel great that I'm actually having a part in this," said Peter Lerro of South Philadelphia. "I'm actually having a hand in putting together a stage he's going to walk on. This is something else."

In the meantime, people stopped Thursday to marvel at the Parkway's transformation.

"I can't believe it, it looks so different," said Joanne Diiuseppe of Broomall, Pa. "I don't see the streets anymore. It's kind of strange, but exciting."

Prior to the pope's arrival, many are deeply affected by the pontiff's message.

"He says good things, and this is all about such a great message," said Ed Loughlin of King of Prussia, Pa.
