A California mom who set out to make a few extra bucks is now pulling in $70,000 per month.
Alicia Schaffer is one of the most successful sellers on "Etsy", the online marketplace for homemade creations.
She launched with hand-sewn headbands and socks, but they became so popular, she became overwhelmed.
"There was stuff everywhere," Shaffer recalled. "I'm literally sitting there crying because I only have so many hours to get stuff done."
Once Alicia recovered from the initial flood of orders she hired some friends to help. She pays herself a salary of $55,000 per year and reinvests the rest into her Etsy business.
She is one of the top five grossing stores on the website.
