Honoring those who serve and protect

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- More than 80 Philadelphia police officers were just honored for outstanding service.

Commissioner Richard Ross thanked his force during a Merit Commendation Ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

Certain officers were singled out for risking their lives to arrest dangerous suspects.

Their brave actions were read out loud while they accepted their certificates of recognition.
