PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It's one of Philadelphia's most iconic spaces, right up there with Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
On Wednesday, Reading Terminal Market was honored with a big award.
The American Planning Association named the Market one of the greatest public spaces in America.
Its vibrant seating area and accessibility to residents and tourists is what helped Reading Terminal claim the title.
Of course, all of the merchants are locally based, selling fresh foods, groceries, and prepared meals.
Standing strong for 122 years, city leaders say the Reading Terminal Market has been a great place for a long time.
