Action News interviews body builder Fred 'Biggie' Smalls.

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- There's absolutely nothing small about Fred Smalls.

He's 240 pounds of pure muscle and his personality is even bigger.

The Townsend, Delaware native is one of the top bodybuilders in the world.

"I'm capable of benching 550, squatting 650, and deadlifting about 700. That's it. Child's play," Smalls said with a smile.

And believe it or not, Fred 'Biggie' Smalls is light on his foot.

He's among the only competitors to dance his flexing skills at shows, including his robot move!

"Anytime you see somebody moving to beats and sounds, I think it gets people excited. First time I did the Olympia, nobody knew me. They called my name and there were crickets. By the time I got done, the whole floor was standing up on their feet," Smalls said

Smalls has won number one poser at shows and even Arnold Schwarzenegger himself told him he's the best he's ever seen.

Smalls has been at this for 26 years.

He first walked into the New Training Center Gym in New Castle, Delaware when he was 13 years old.

He didn't like what he saw in the mirror. He was upset that he was overweight.

"I was upset that I was so chubby. Being overweight, I just didn't feel great about myself. Being able to put on muscle and start changing my physique was just a major confidence booster," Smalls said.

Smalls now wants to raise the bar even further.

After finishing 13th last year at Mr. Olympia, the Super Bowl of bodybuilding, he's aiming for a top three finish later this year.
