NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police say the driver of a DELDOT dump truck was charged with inattentive driving after a crash in Newport.

The accident involved the dump truck and the tractor section of a tractor- trailer.

It happened before 1:00 p.m. Tuesday on Airport Road, between the I-95 off ramp and Basin Road.

It appears the DELDOT truck was in the process of making a U-turn when it was struck by the tractor.

There was a fuel spill as a result of the accident.

The Department of Natural Resources and a HAZMAT unit responded to the scene.

Airport Road was closed in both directions between the I-95 off ramp and Basin Road, but the roads have since reopened.

The driver of the tractor was transported to Christiana Hospital. No word on that person's condition.

The driver of the DELDOT truck was evaluated at the scene.
