Suspect crashes into SEPTA trolley, leads Philadelphia police on foot chase

A crash involving a SEPTA trolley led police on a foot chase in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A crash involving a SEPTA trolley led police on a foot chase in Southwest Philadelphia.

The incident took place around 4:45 p.m. Monday at 47th and Woodland Avenue.

Police say a driver crashed into a SEPTA trolley and then into a nearby lumberyard.

Once authorities arrived on the scene, the driver fled on foot.

Police chased the driver and eventually apprehended him.

SEPTA confirms to Action News a trolley was involved in the accident.

There is no word on any injuries.

SEPTA is using shuttle buses along Route 11, between 40th and 49th streets.
