A third person in Pennsylvania has died from measles, according to Jefferson County Coroner Greg Furlong, who announced the case Sunday on Facebook.

Furlong's office said the victim was a 40-year-old woman from western Pennsylvania who was not vaccinated. She died Saturday from complications related to measles.

The death follows a recent announcement from the Pennsylvania Department of Health that two unvaccinated people in Lancaster County died from measles earlier this summer - the first measles-related deaths in the state in 35 years.

State health officials said they are reviewing the latest case and continuing efforts to expand access to measles vaccinations.

In the Philadelphia region, Chester County has reported an uptick in cases, with 64 confirmed infections.
