Woodpeckers breaking car mirrors. Matt O'Donnell reports during Action News at 4:30 a.m. on October 25, 2017.

A woodpecker is breaking car mirrors in a Georgia neighborhood.

Nearly two dozen people in Snellville have reported damage.

Neighbors first thought children were vandalizing their cars with a gun or even a hammer.

The culprit turned out to be a woodpecker.

They think the bird is seeing its reflection, assuming it is another bird, and attacks.

Neighbors are putting plastic bags over their car mirrors to protect them.
