Centuries of Semper Fi

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps is celebrating its 241st birthday Thursday.

To help mark the occasion, there was a big ceremony in Center City.

Mayor Jim Kenney stopped by to meet with the current and former service members.

The Corps was founded in 1775 right here in Philadelphia.

It was originally known as the Continental Marines.
