HAMILTON TWP., New Jersey (WPVI) -- A crane toppled over onto a house in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, while in the middle of removing a tree.

It happened shortly after noon Friday on the unit block of Miry Brook Road.

Chopper 6 over the scene showed the crane tilted to the side against the home.

Homeowner, Gary Huy, was watching the workers removing two trees from his property.

"As soon as he picked the top of the second tree the crane started to topple," said Gary. "It looks like one of the back support legs sunk into the ground. And the crane operator did the best job he could to make sure the crane got stabilized on the house."

Gary's wife, Barbara Huy, was inside when it happened.

"I didn't hear a thing. So, it must've really come down slow because there was no bang. The house didn't shake or anything, so that was miraculous," said Barbara Huy.

The Huys say they are grateful that no one was hurt.

OSHA is aware of the incident and is looking into it.

The family says they hired HTS Tree Care to remove the trees, and police say the crane belongs to Lift Techs Crane Company.

Action News reached out to both companies for comment, but we have not heard back.
