FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Police say a man and a woman are hospitalized after being shot in Philadelphia's Frankford section.
The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Darrah and Wakeling streets.
The male 31-year-old victim was shot in the leg and was being driven to the hospital, when the driver crashed his SUV into a column at the hospital. He is hospitalized in critical condition.
The driver was not hurt and the victim was treated for the gunshot wound. He is in critical condition.
Police say the 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg then tried to run to Aria Frankford Hospital for treatment.
Officers followed a trail of blood to the hospital and found the woman. She is in stable condition.
Police found several shell casings at the scene and inside the vehicle that crashed at the hospital.
They also say money and pills were found, and they believe the motive could be drugs.
So far, police have made no arrests.
Detectives are questioning the driver of the SUV.
