Philadelphia police catch bank robbery suspect after chase

HOLMESBURG (WPVI) -- Police caught up with a suspect who is accused of robbing a bank and then leading officers on a chase.

The holdup happened at the Prudential Bank in the 8000 block of Frankford Avenue in the city's Holmesburg section on Friday.

A witness in the bank told police the robber took off in a white car.

The man was later apprehended on Delaware Avenue near Orthodox Street in the Bridesburg section after a brief chase.

No word of any injuries at the bank.
