WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Vandals have targeted a Black Lives Matter banner belonging to a Wilmington church for the third time this week.

The banner hangs outside the First Unitarian Church.

Since last weekend, someone has repeatedly cut out the word "black."

The church has been replacing it each time, and is now sending a message to whoever is behind this.

"Basically when you come in the night and destroy our banners, two things are gonna happen: No. 1 we'll put up another one, and No. 2 we will make a donation to Black Lives Matter for each act of vandalism you commit," said the Rev. Roberta Finkelstein. "So today we're making our second donation so they're helping to raise money for the cause that they apparently oppose."

The church says the damaged banners have been turned over to state police.
