ANCHORAGE, Alaska (WPVI) -- Police say three first grade students in Anchorage, Alaska have been suspended after plotting to kill one of their classmates.

Investigators say three girls at Winterberry Charter School were planning on using silica gel packets from their lunch bags, to poison and kill another student last week.

The gel isn't toxic, but the students believed it was.

Another classmate notified a teacher.

The school's principal says the students will be returning to class following a multiple day suspension.

There will be no charges filed.

It's not clear why the girls targeted their classmate.
