Eighteen-year-old David Ramos Jr. is facing multiple charges including murder, robbery and related offenses.
Ramos was arrested without incident, police said, around 11:10 a.m. Saturday in the 43000 block of Frankford Avenue in the city's Frankford section.
"It's a relief in that way, getting him off the street so he doesn't do it to another family," said Bill Kelly.
A vigil was held Friday night for Ryan Kelly at the Samuels Playground in Port Richmond.
"Ryan was a wonderful boy. He kind-hearted, he would do anything for you. He wouldn't hurt a fly," said Bill Kelly, Ryan's father.
Kelly was gunned down around 5 a.m. in the 3500 block of Almond Street, just a block from the home he shared with his parents.
"It was a robbery gone bad, and they didn't get nothing off him and they shot him cold blood," said Bill Kelly.
News of the capture of Kelly's alleged killer brought family and friends together on Saturday to celebrate. With heavy hearts and Kelly's name on their chests, they remember the 21-year-old who always had a smile.
"He always had a great smirk on his face, and he was always a positive person," said sister Amy Campbell.
Police were looking for two men seen in a surveillance image from a TD Bank where investigators say they tried unsuccessfully to use a stolen ATM card.
While his father says he's pleased one suspect has been caught, he tells us they won't rest until police put the other behind bars.
"They're looking for him now. They know his name. He knows where he's at. He might as well just turn himself in because they're going to get him," said Billy Kelly.
