MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer suffered a broken leg after losing control of his motorcycle on Roosevelt Boulevard, authorities said.

It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday at the Boulevard near Levick Street in Mayfair.

Action News has learned the officer had just left a police protest at the 15th district building.

He was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital.

Several police vehicles blocked off that section of Roosevelt Boulevard to traffic as the investigation was underway.
