Dave McNabb has been waiting for his shot on the PGA tour his entire life.
The 48-year-old turned pro back in 1993 and has been trying to qualify ever since.
Finally after all these years, his hard work paid off.
Last year, McNabb, the head golf pro at the Apple Brook Golf Club in Malvern, qualified for the PGA Championship and sure enough he's made it to next month's major once again.
"It's obviously the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. The second time around is validation of a lot of hard work," he said.
McNabb missed the cut last year at the PGA Championship in Rochester but he had a taste of what it was like to hang with Tiger Woods.
McNabb played under par for his first five holes.
"They were flashing the scoreboard up on the screen. I was like tied for seventh place, you see Tiger Woods one under, Dave McNabb one under - it was pretty cool stuff," he said.
Over the next three weeks leading up to the PGA Championship in Louisville, McNabb will spend most of his time working on his short game.
His experience from last year will certainty give him even more confidence going into this round.
"Just the comfort level, I think, will make my odds increase of making the cut," said McNabb.
McNabb hopes it pays off.
He's still looking for his first pay day on the pro tour and he's eyeing that trophy. It's a long shot but Mcnabb's story has been anything but par for the course.
