PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Three children have been found safe after an all-night search that began with a homicide investigation in Philadelphia and ended with a man being found dead in Montgomery County.
It all began after a 39-year-old woman was shot around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Haines Street.
Police say the victim, Maisah Larkin, was found in the living room of the home with multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
Larkin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police say three kids - 2-year-old triplets - went missing from the area around the same time as the homicide.
The children, a girl and two boys, were believed to be with 37-year-old Stanley Baptiste, who was last seen on Haines Street just after 8 p.m.
Baptiste was later found with a gunshot wound to the head inside an SUV in Lansdale, Pa. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
the children were found safe. Police said the suspect left the children with friends of the family, where they were later found safe and uninjured.
Investigators say this incident was the result of a domestic incident.
Brenda Lovelace said she knew her neighbor was in trouble.
"From what she was telling me, is that he was abusive. She was planning on leaving, but she didn't leave fast enough," Lovelace said.
Lovelace said her neighbor's story should serve as a cautionary tale for other young women like her.
"I am still in shock," Lovelace said. "When I heard what happened I just broke down and cried."
The investigation is continuing with the Homicide Unit.
The triplets are in the custody of a grandmother, police said.
