Delaware woman wins $500,000 prize from Acme

PIKE CREEK, Del. (WPVI) -- A woman from Pike Creek, Delaware has 500,000 reasons to smile, and it's all because of her mom.

Kelsey won $500,000 playing Acme Market's Collect and Win Monopoly Game.

After the contest ended in May, no one came forward to claim one of the top six prizes - which triggered a random drawing of $500,000.

On Friday, there was a celebration for Kelsey at the Prices Corner Acme store in the 1300 block of Centerville Road.

She was joined by her mother, who she's splitting the money with.

"I won because mom bought groceries and took her codes and entered online," she said.

Kelsey's name was selected out of more than 50 million online entries and more than 130,000 mail-in submissions.
