16th Annual 2nd Street Fest returns to Northern Liberties, bigger and better than ever
The 16th Annual 2nd Street Festival is this Sunday, August 2 from noon to 10 p.m.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- This weekend, the largest neighborhood summer festival in Philadelphia returns to Northern Liberties.
The 16th Annual 2nd Street Fest is back and bigger than ever to keep the America 250th celebration going strong.
The festival features more than 250 food trucks, vendors, restaurants, bands, retailers and more for a day full of food, fun and community.
"It is a 100% homegrown kind of effort," says William Reed, the co-owner of Standard Tap. "That's how it started, and that's how it still is. It started as sort of like a large block party, and it has really just turned into something so much bigger. I think it's the biggest festival of its kind in Philadelphia. There's probably going to be at least 40,000 people here."
On August 2, 2nd Street Fest will stretch for 14 blocks down all of 2nd Street from Girard Avenue to Spring Garden Street, with ten hours of food, drink, music, shopping and entertainment.
There are more than 10 beer and cocktail gardens, 10 hours of live music from 18 acts, and more than 50 restaurants serving up their best bites.
It is truly an all-day affair.
