
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Gunfire rang out on the streets of West Philadelphia, leaving a woman in critical condition.
Police rushed to the 5500 block of Walton Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
When they arrived, they found a 23-year-old woman shot in the stomach.
The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she was taken into surgery and listed in critical condition.
There were also 17 spent shell casings littered the street, including rifle rounds.
Police say two different caliber guns were used in the shooting.
Officials believe the woman was caught in the crossfire between two unidentified men, who were shooting at each other.
Detectives are checking surveillance cameras in the area for potential leads.
