1 dead, another hospitalized after serious crash in Stanton, Delaware

STANTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Stanton.

It happened around 10:45 p.m. Saturday on Stanton Christiana Road, near Old Stanton Christiana Road.

According to police, a Toyota Camry was traveling southwest around a curve.

At the same time, police say a Toyota Sienna was traveling northeast in the center lane.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Camry had lost control and entered the path of the Sienna.

As a result, police say the passengers' side of the Camry struck the front of the Sienna.

The driver of the Camry, a 17-year-old male from Bear, Delaware, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Sienna, a 46-year-old woman from Middletown, Delaware, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
