4 hurt after shooting in Wilmington, Delaware
WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after four people were shot in Wilmington, Delaware, late Tuesday night.
It happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Washington Street near West 7th.
Officials say one victim was hit in the abdomen, another was shot in the back, and a third was hit multiple times. There has been no information about injuries to the fourth victim.
All were rushed to the hospital.
Investigators have not released their conditions.
Police do not know the motive or what led up to the shooting.
Wilmington saw two deadly shootings on Sunday, so Action News dug into the data to see if violent crime is really on the rise.
The number of shootings through Sunday in Wilmington is up by 16%, compared to last year, while the number of shooting victims is up by 22%.
However, the data shows that fewer people are dying in those shootings. Murders are down at this point, compared to every year dating back to 2020.
