9 Yorkshire terriers rescued from Northern Liberties home after owner found dead

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Rescuers saved nine Yorkshire Terriers from a home in Philadelphia.

Firefighters responded to the 900 block of Lawrence Street in the Northern Liberties section on Monday night after receiving a report that a person had died.

Officials say the owner had passed away recently and the death is not suspicious.

The Yorkies included six grown dogs and three puppies.

ACCT Philly tells Action News the dogs will need some dental and grooming work, but they seem to be in overall good health.
