Arson investigation underway after fire at Northeast Philadelphia Walmart

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating an arson at a Walmart in Northeast Philadelphia.

The fire was reported Sunday in the merchandise area of the store along Roosevelt Blvd., at Grant Avenue.

There has been no word on who set the fire, how it was set, or why.

"The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority. We are working with local law enforcement on the investigation," Walmart said in a statement, adding that they are working to reopen the store as soon as possible.
