Camden tackles illegal dumping with monthly bulk waste collection events

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- The city-wide Bulk Waste Collection effort is in its third year.

On Thursday, community members dropped off furniture, debris, and other household items at a site at Delaware Avenue and York Street.

Similar events will be held monthly in communities across the city to help clean up neighborhoods.

The effort helps support Mayor Carstarphen's "Camden Strong" initiative, which began in June 2021. The strategy aims to improve the quality of life in the city.

Participants must be Camden residents.
