AVONDALE, PA. (WPVI) -- A warning for people living in Chester County, following a terrifying raccoon attack.
A woman who encountered the animal is sharing her experience about the ordeal.
"He gets up in his legs and starts growling and I'm like 'what am I gonna do?' I'm not in an action movie or anything so I just took off and ran and was almost in the door and he got me on my calf," 66-year-old Dianne Collins told Action News.
Collins lives in Avondale, and says on Friday, June 19th she was in her yard, when the raccoon chased her and bit her leg.
Collins had to go to the hospital and get tetanus and rabies shots.
She's expected to be ok, but she wants to warn others in the area
"I have heard that other people have been attacked. I'm so scared to come outside, what should I do? I put boots on and I have a walking stick that I'm holding like a lightsaber," said Collins.
The Chester County Health Department has put out a warning about the attack, but officials say it's not clear if the raccoon was rabid.
