PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Storms tonight will bring vivid lightning, downpours and gusty winds before moving offshore before sunrise.

TONIGHT: Storms arriving from the Great Lakes region will be dropping south/east into our area.

Some strong to severe storms are possible with the greatest threat being damaging wind gusts up to 60mph.

Heavy downpours can lead to ponding on roads and low visibility.

The key timing of storms looks to be between 11 p.m. until 4 a.m.

FRIDAY: One more hot and humid day. A pop-up thunderstorm later in the day can't be ruled out, high 89.

SATURDAY: Sunshine, few clouds. Turning less humid, high 83.

SUNDAY: Humidity is nice and low with partly sunny skies and just an isolated shower around, high 79.

MONDAY (LABOR DAY): A great day to be outside! Sunshine, low humidity, high 81.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny, nice and comfortable, high 83.

WEDNESDAY: It turns more humid with a thundershower around, high 85.

THURSDAY: Warm and muggy with late day storms possible, high 87.
