Woman accused of stealing checks meant for Media, Pa. Little League

MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- A 57-year-old woman is accused of forging checks worth thousands of dollars and stealing money intended for Media Little League, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

Police have charged Robin Massing with forgery and theft, among other crimes.

Authorities said three checks were placed in a mailbox at the shopping center at Baltimore Avenue and Providence Road in May 2025. About nine months later, in February 2026, one of the checks was deposited through a mobile deposit for $7,200.

Police said a bank representative contacted the Little League organization because the payment appeared suspicious. The league then discovered that both the signature and the amount on the check had been altered, investigators said.

The league notified the district attorney's office, which used surveillance footage to identify Robin Massing as a suspect, according to authorities. Investigators also determined that Massing had previously engaged in similar conduct.

Massing was arrested in Chester County in June 2025 for producing and forging a check, the district attorney's office said.

Prosecutors said the checks stolen from Media Little League were intended to pay for uniforms, equipment and field expenses. The organization is well known in the community and reached the Little League World Series in 2023.

Residents and business owners near the mailbox where the checks were allegedly stolen expressed disbelief that money intended for children could be targeted.

"There's no explanation for it. There's no reason you should do something like that," said Cortez Hall of Center City.

"We hope they get found, we hope the money gets back to the right people and hope that we can keep uplifting the community," said Dan Walker of School of Rock Delco.

Investigators said they are still searching for Massing. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.
