Court hearing held for man accused of stabbing infant in Coatesville, Pa.

COATESVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- The 44-year-old man accused of stabbing his 3-month-old baby in Coatesville, Chester County is going to trial.

Authorities say Michael Phillips faces charges for allegedly stabbing the baby boy in the stomach, and then throwing him into the snow back in February.

The baby's mother says Phillips made comments about sacrificing the baby before the horrific act of violence.

The child was flown to CHOP and underwent emergency surgery. He is still recovering.

Phillips bail was denied again.
