Crews searching Ocean City beach after reports of missing swimmer

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Emergency crews are searching the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey, on Monday evening following reports of a missing swimmer.

The search began around 5 p.m. near 11th Street and the shoreline.

Chopper 6 was overhead around 7 p.m., where roughly two dozen people could be seen forming a human chain in the water to aid in the search.

Authorities have not released additional details about the missing swimmer or the ongoing operation.
