

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting in North Philadelphia that left a 23-year-old man hospitalized Friday night.
Officers responded to the area of 24th and Elkhart streets shortly before 8:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. At the scene, investigators found between 25 and 30 shell casings, according to Inspector D.F. Pace.
No victims were located there, but police later learned that the 23-year-old man had arrived at Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back.
He was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and is listed in stable condition.
The vehicle, a 2016 Ford Fusion, is being held at the hospital as part of the investigation.
No arrests have been made, and investigators have not identified a motive.
