Cheltenham School District names new interim superintendent

CHELTENHAM, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Cheltenham School District named a new interim superintendent, and it's someone who is no stranger to the district.

The school board unanimously approved Dr. Chris McGinley to the position Tuesday night.

He previously served as Cheltenham's first assistant superintendent from 1999 to 2003, and as superintendent from 2003 to 2006.

McGinley's appointment comes as Dr. Brian Scriven resigned from the post earlier this month amid an investigation into a hazing incident last year involving the football program that led to criminal charges.
