Police say a driver is in the hospital after causing two crashes within minutes of each other in Camden, New Jersey early Thursday morning.

The first crash happened at Dudley and Westfield Street when the driver struck another car.

The second crash happened a short time later, just before 12:30 a.m. at 26th Street near River Avenue.

According to police, the driver slammed his SUV through a metal fence.

Officers say the vehicle rolled over several times before coming to a rest.

The driver suffered various injuries and is in the hospital in stable condition.

Police say the other driver involved in the first wreck was not seriously hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
