Driver trapped inside car after hitting light pole in Fairmount Park

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A driver slammed into a light pole in Fairmount Park, trapping him inside the car.

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free the driver.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on Martin Luther King Drive, just south of the Falls Bridge.

He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, and is in serious condition.
