East Mount Airy church holds first community day since COVID pandemic

PHILADELPHIA -- Neighbors in East Mount Airy have a renewed sense of hope, thanks to a free festival held this weekend.

The True Light Fellowship Church held its Community Day Saturday.

On site were a variety of resources for residents, including food giveaways, hot food distribution and a kid fun zone.

More than 25 local employers were also on site to meet with potential candidates.

"When you start talking to people, and hearing their story might be different, you say my life is not that bad. So this community event is to provide that glimmer of hope that things will get better," says Sherri Johnson Roye, PR Ministry Director.

This is the church's first Community Day since the event was postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
