PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police remembered one of their own killed in the line of duty 50 years ago.
Friends, family, and fellow officers gathered outside the 5th police district in Roxborough for a solemn ceremony on Thursday.
They were here to mark the passing of Officer James E. Griffin.
The officer died on March 5th, 1976, after he was shot by a prisoner who grabbed Griffin's handgun as Griffin tried to handcuff him.
