Family seeks justice after man gunned down in Tacony

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It has been two months since a man was gunned down in the Tacony section of Philadelphia.

Police are still no closer to solving his murder.

"It's like everything after the whole process, funeral and stuff like that, it's just not over. We can't just rest and move on. Everything is in a stand still until it's figured out who did it, hopefully," says Deirdre Richardson.

The family of Jamill Richardson is struggling to come to terms with his murder.

The 33-year-old was gunned down on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 just before 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Torresdale and Longshore avenues in the city's Tacony section.

Police say Richardson was shot multiple times.

He died less than a half hour later at the hospital.

A motive and a suspect remain a mystery.

"It's really hard for my mom, his other siblings and I'm sure his son. It's really really hard," says Richardson.

There is a $20,000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
