PHILADELPHIA -- With less than 24 hours before what some are calling a historic showdown, fans from both sides came out to rally for their respective team on Friday afternoon.
"It's crazy. Everyone's so excited. It's never been like this before," said junior Josh Cimbol.
"We're all together. We're one body right now. We're all so excited, we're ready to power up," said junior Joshua Chaney.
Across the city, cherry and white pride was in full effect - except at Commerce Plaza at 20th and Market where it was all about the blue and gold and the leprechauns.
"I bleed blue and gold and it couldn't be more finer for the city of Philadelphia, but here comes the Irish," said Bob Sumner of South Philadelphia.
Despite their Notre Dame loyalty, Philly natives weren't about to start trash talking undefeated Owls.
"It's tough because I'm a huge Notre Dame fan, but I love to see this for Temple. It's going to be great for recruiting," said Ernie Morris of Pottstown.
"Let's give temple a lot of respect. They're seven and 0, good schedule, a great coach," said Bill Fisher of Fairmount.
With all eyes on Temple, expectations are high.
"People didn't think we could best Penn State and we did," said junior Aaron Brumer.
"P.J. Walker's gotta play a good game ... defense has to play like they have all year and we're gonna do good," said junior Don Dillon. "They're gonna win."
