Hospitality workers picket in Center City for better contract

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hospitality workers in Philadelphia are fighting for a better contract.

Dozens of employees picketed outside of the Sheraton Hotel in Center City on Wednesday.

They're demanding better wages and fair staffing levels ahead of next year's big events in Philadelphia, like the FIFA World Cup and the MLB All-Star Game.

"UNITE HERE Local 274" represents more than 4,000 hospitality workers in the city.

The majority of their contracts have already expired.

The Sheraton has not returned a request for comment.
