Man convicted of firing shots at a Philadelphia police officer

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man has been convicted of firing shots at a Philadelphia police officer in December 2023.

The district attorney's office announced the conviction of 42-year-old Michael McHugh on Wednesday.

Bodycam footage recorded the confrontation in the 1300 block of North Dover Street in the city's Brewerytown section.

The officer pulled his weapon after McHugh opened the door while holding a gun.

The officer's body camera fell off, but captured shots being fired in his direction.

McHugh was convicted of aggravated assault.
