NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A 65-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in an early-morning house fire in New Castle, Delaware, the state Fire Marshal's Office confirmed Saturday.
Firefighters were called just before 6:30 a.m. to the unit block of Schuyler Court, where smoke was showing from the roof of a two-story home. Crews forced their way through the front door and found the man just inside, according to investigators. He was pulled from the home and taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Officials said the interior of the home had moderate hoarding conditions, which made the search and rescue effort more difficult.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
