Mom accused of stealing $61K from School District of Philadelphia in years-long scheme

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Prosecutors accuse a mother of stealing more than $61,000 from the School District of Philadelphia in a years-long scheme.

The money was supposed to be used for her children's therapy.

Attorney General Dave Sunday says Laurel Schullere told the district that the payments were going to "Missing Pieces" in Germantown, which they found out was not an operating business.

Authorities claim Schullere was actually pocketing the money.
