New Jersey joins lawsuit seeking to block Paramount, Warner Bros. merger

New Jersey has joined a coalition of a dozen states suing to block the $110 billion merger of Warner Brothers and Paramount.

The lawsuit is led by California's Attorney General Rob Bonta.

He says the merger would lead to higher prices, lower quality, and less content in film and television.

The Justice Department's Antitrust Division signed off on the merger in June. It would combine two of Hollywood's five major film distributors, and two of the five major cable channel owners.

The proposed merger is the largest in Hollywood history.
