New safe haven for youth in Strawberry Mansion

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Police Athletic League in Philadelphia is hoping to give young people a safe place to spend time in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.

City officials and community members helped cut the ribbon on a new youth center today.

This used to be the LP Hill School, but after a year-long renovation, this is now a new safe haven for youngsters.

The center is designed to give children educational and athletic opportunities that they might not otherwise have.
